Abstract:
      Epoxidation of unsaturated fatty acid methyl esters(FAMEs) were studied with formic acid,heteropoly acid PW12 and heteropoly acid quaternary ammonium salt as catalysts.Effects of different combinations of oxidants,solvents and catalysts,surfactants and reaction conditions on the epoxidation of FAMEs were investigated.Experimental results indicated that surfactants and solvent changed heterogeneous properties and remarkably accelerated the reaction controlled by mass transfer.For the FAMEs with iodine value ...
