Abstract:
Using lipase Novozyme 435 as catalyst, epoxidation of fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs) was optimized by response surface methodology based on single factor experiment. With reaction time, lipase dosage and molar ratio of H2O2 to double bond in FAMEs as influencing factors and epoxy value as index, the quadratic regression model of epoxidation system of lipase-catalyzed FAMEs was established. The results showed that the optimal epoxidation conditions were as follows: without adding any fatty acid, FAMEs mass 20 g, amount of toluene 30 mL, lipase dosage 3%(based on the FAMEs mass), molar ratio of H2O2 to double bond in FAMEs 1.7∶1, reaction temperature 40℃, reaction time 5 h. Under these conditions, the epoxy value was 4.82%, which was in good agreement with the predicted value.
