Biodiesel was producted from waste clay oil by two-step catalytic method of esterification and transesterification. With ferric sulfate as catalyst in esterification reaction and sodium hydroxide as catalyst in transesterification reaction, the conditions of the two-step catalytic method were optimized by orthogonal experiment. The results showed that the optimal esterification conditions were obtained as follows: ferric sulfate dosage 4%, molar ratio of methanol to oil 14∶1, reaction temperature 70℃, reaction time 3 h; and the optimal transesterification conditions were obtained as follows: molar ratio of methanol to oil 6∶1, sodium hydroxide dosage 1.4%, reaction temperature 70℃, reaction time 2.5 h. Under these optimal conditions, the total transesterification rate reached 96.4%, and the main quality indicators of the biodiesel obtained were close to that of 0# diesel. |
