The SO2-4/TiO2-SiO2 solid acid catalyst was prepared through the sol-gel and impregnation methods, and it was used to catalyze the methyl esterification of soybean oil deodorizer distillate. The influences of calcination temperature of TiO2-SiO2 carrier, concentration of sulfuric acid for impregnation and impregnation time on activity of the catalyst were studied, and the effects of catalyst dosage, ratio of volume of methanol to mass of soybean oil deodorizer distillate, reaction temperature and reaction time on esterification rate were investigated. The results showed that the optimal reaction conditions were obtained as follows: calcination temperature of carrier 550℃, concentration of sulfuric acid for impregnation 2.5 mol/L,impregnation time 12 h, catalyst dosage 5%(based on the mass of soybean oil deodorizer distillate),ratio of volume of methanol to mass of soybean oil deodorizer distillate 1.5∶1,reaction temperature 65℃ and reaction time 4 h. Under the optimal conditions, the esterification rate reached 96.5%. |
