Badger oil was obtained from the adipose tissue of badger during hibernation by low-temperature extraction method, then its fatty acid composition was analyzed and animal safety test was conducted. The results showed that the fatty acid of badger oil was mainly unsaturated fatty acid(UFA), and the UFA contents in liquid supernatant and sediment were 75.3% and 65.5% respectively, including linolenic acid, linoleic acid etc, which were the essential amino acids for human body. The results of animal test indicated that badger oil had no acute toxicity, no irritation to the skin and no allergic reaction of the skin. According to the analysis, badger oil could not only be used as medicine in traditional Chinese medicine, but also had possibilities to replace lard to be a novel edible animal oil. |
