Discussion on determination of trans fatty acids in edible vegetable oils by gas chromatography

Abstract:
      By adjusting the chromatographic running condition in GB/T 22110—2008, the initial temperature of chromatographic column was adjusted from 60℃ to 115℃, and the retention time reduced from 5 min to 1 min; the heating-up rate of stage 1 adjusted from 5℃/min to 10℃/min; one stage was added, from 165℃ to 185℃ with heating-up rate of 10℃/min; and the running time of last stage shortened from 17 min to 5 min. By shortening the gap running time of each component, the chromatographic running time shortened from 74 min to 35 min, and the resolution, baseline and peak profile of the chromatogram were better. The repeatability was accord with the requirements of GB/T 22110—2008, that was“the difference of the parallel determination results of the same sample should not exceed 10% of the arithmetic average value”. After time shortened, the detection efficiency was greatly improved.
