Abstract: |
The branched fatty acid methyl esters were prepared using the modified montmorillonite as ring-opening catalyst and epoxidized oleic acid methyl ester as raw material. With open-loop conversion rate as index, the effects of catalyst dosage, reaction time, reaction temperature, and molar ratio of isooctanol to epoxy bond on the preparation of branched fatty acid methyl esters catalyzed by modified montmorillonite were investigated by single factor experiment. Then every factor was optimized by response surface methodology, and the product was characterized by FT-IR. The results showed that the optimal preparation conditions of branched fatty acid methyl esters were obtained as follows:reaction time 12 h, reaction temperature 90?℃, catalyst dosage 3.7% (based on the mass of epoxidized oleic acid methyl ester), molar ratio of isooctanol to epoxy bond 3.4∶?1. Under these conditions, the open-loop conversion rate reached 99.57%. |
