Abstract:
      The prevalence of metabolic syndrome in elderly population in China is increasing, which is related to their diets of high carbohydrates, low fat and high proportion of refined grain. In the study on the correlation between fatty acids and metabolic syndrome, fatty acids in plasma phospholipids, serum triglycerides, cholesterol esters, fatty tissue and erythrocyte membrane were used to study the correlation between fatty acids and metabolic syndrome. Based on the increasing prevalence of metabolic syndrome in elderly population in China, the correlation between specific fatty acids and metabolic syndrome was summarized combined with the characteristics of diets to prevent and control the metabolic syndrome in elderly population in China.
