Abstract:
      The differences of fatty acid compositions of kenaf seed oils from nine different cultivars were analyzed. The oil was extracted from kenaf seed by Soxhlet extraction method. The kenaf seed oil was first methyl esterified and then analyzed and identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The results indicated that the oil contents of kenaf seed were between 19.63% and 22.06%. Kenaf seed oil was mainly composed of linoleic acid(31.98%-38.91%), oleic acid(31.30%-36.93%), palmitic acid(19.81%-23.02%)and stearic acid(3.32%-4.22%). So kenaf seed oil was a kind of typical oleic acid-linoleic acid oil.
