In order to explore the source of benzopyrene in cottonseed and cottonseed oil, the benzopyrene contents in cottonseed from different sources were determined by high performance liquid chromatography, and the benzopyrene contents in conttenseed with higher benzopyrene content and cottonseed oil produced by cottonseed with different benzopyrene contents were analyzed. The results showed that generally benzopyrene content was not high in cottonseed which was less than 1 μg/kg, and not related to planting area. Benzopyrene content in cottonseed didnt increase but cottonseed could be polluted during transportation and storage, such as transportation vehicles not clean, air pollution and dust intrusion. In the contaminated cottonseed, benzopyrene was mainly distributed in the cottonseed shell, and it could be gathered in cottonseed oil. |
