Abstract: |
Using Ba(OH)2·8H2O as precursor, solid base catalyst barium hydroxide was prepared by two-stage vacuum heating dehydration. The catalyst was characterized by thermogravimetric analysis and X-ray diffraction analysis. The catalytic activity of barium hydroxide in transesterification of castor oil with methanol was investigated by single factor experiment. The results showed that the vacuum heating temperature of the first stage should be set at 70?℃, and the second stage should be set at 150?℃; catalyst precursor Ba(OH)2·8H2O turned into β-Ba(OH)2·H2O through the first stage vacuum heating dehydration, and then turned into β-Ba(OH)2 through the second stage vacuum heating dehydration; under the conditions of molar ratio of methanol to oil 9∶?1, catalyst dosage 2%, reaction temperature 60?℃ and reaction time 30 min, the conversion rate of transesterification could reach 93.80%, and it was still above 80% after the catalyst had been reused for four times. |
