Esterification of p-methoxy cinnamic acid with glycerol was conducted to synthesized p-methoxy cinnamic acid glyceryl using ion-exchange resin as catalyst, which had better hydrophilicity. Then the reaction conditions were optimized. At the same time, the product was characterized by UV scanning, high performance liquid chromatography and 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR). The results showed that under the conditions of reaction temperature 130?℃, molar ratio of p-methoxy cinnamic acid to glycerol 1∶?10, dosage of catalyst amberlyst?15-ion exchange resin (based on the mass of p-methoxy cinnamic acid) 20%, and reaction time 3 h, the yield of p-methoxy cinnamic acid glyceryl was the highest, up to 69.63% and the conversion rate of p-methoxyl cinnamic acid was 91.91%. The product had high absorbance effect at 280-320 nm, and its purity was above 99.2% after column chromatography separation. By 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR), the molecular structure of the product was determined to be 1(3)-p-methoxy cinnamic acid glyceryl. |
