Abstract:
      A rapid determination method of wax content in rapeseed oil was established. According to the crystallization characteristics of wax in ice-water mixing bath, the wax content was determined through measuring the turbidity value by turbidity instrument with high sensitivity. The results showed that a good linear relationship was obtained when the content of wax was in the range of 0-250 mg/kg by the method. The recoveries of the standard addition of 10, 20, 30 mg/kg and 60 mg/kg were 75.0%-89.0%，71.5%-88.5%，83.3%-102.3% and 90.0%-103.3% respectively. The wax contents in rapeseed oils before and after dewaxing were determined and the results were 30.0-33.9 mg/kg and 12.7-13.3 mg/kg respectively. It indicated that the method had the items of accurate result, good reproducibility, simple operation and shorter time consuming, which could be applied to rapidly determine trace wax in rapeseed oil.
