Abstract:
Using glycerol as carbon source, the effects of temperature on the cellular oil fatty acid composition, FAS and PKS genes transcription levels were measured after Schizochytrium sp. S31 entering lipid accumulation stage in shake flask. The results showed that after the cells entering lipid accumulation stage, when the fermentation temperature increased to 30℃, the DHA content in algal oil decreased, and the FAS gene transcriptional level was higher than that of PKS. When the fermentation temperature decreased to 20℃, the DHA content in algal oil increased and the PKS gene transcriptional level was significantly higher than that of FAS. All these datas showed that temperature had significant effects on PKS and FAS genes transcriptional levels, which determined the changes of fatty acid composition in algal oil of Schizochytrium sp. S31.
