Abstract:
      With methylpentane and n-hexane as extraction solvents, from two aspects of extraction effect and extracted oil quality, the effects of two kinds of extraction solvents on four-stage countercurrent extraction of oil from expanded soybean were evaluated. From the aspect of extraction effect, the mass fraction of extracted miscella, rate of static adsorption of the wet meal and residual oil rate of the leaching meal were studied. From the aspect of extracted oil quality, the fatty acid composition, acid value, color, trace component and residual solvent of the extracted crude oil were investigated and compared with that of n-hexane. The results showed that the mass fraction of each stage miscella of methylpentane was higher, indicating higher oil extraction rate. The rate of static adsorption of the wet meal and the residual oil rate of the leaching meal of methylpentane were (19.00±0.45)% and (0.57±0.08)% respectively, while for n-hexane, they were (20.65±0.20)% and (0.71±0.01)% respectively. There was no significant difference in fatty acid compositions between the two extraction solvents. The oil extracted by methylpentane showed lower acid value, phospholipid content, residual solvent content, tocopherols content and sterols content, while it had higher squalene content, which meant less refined loss and more energy efficient for methylpentane extraction. It could be noted that methylpentanes was the promising alternative solvent of n-hexane.
