Abstract:
SD rat was firstly fed with soybean blend oil containing different contents of DHA algae oil, and then malondialdehybe (MDA) content and of total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC activity) and catalase (CAT) activity were measured to investigate the effect of DHA algae oil on the promotion of antioxidant capacity and the suppression of peroxidation of cerebral cortex of SD rat. The results showed that soybean blend oil containing DHA algae oil had a significant role in the reduction of MDA content in certain scope, while the activities of T-AOC and CAT were positively correlated with the dosage of DHA. These results indicated that DHA algae oil added in soybean blend oil had positive effects on enhancing the capacity of radical scavenging and reducing the damage of lipid peroxidation.
