Abstract: |
The effects of light intensity and mass concentration of potassium nitrate on the biomass and oil content of Nannochloris oculata were investigated, and the microalgae was cultivated by two-stage cultivation method to enhance the biomass and oil content. The results showed that Nannochloris oculata achieved the highest biomass of 0.68 g/L and oil content of 16.28% in the light intensity of 1 940-2 060 lx and mass concentration of potassium nitrate 100 mg/L for 12 d of cultivation. The lowest biomass and highest oil content of Nannochloris oculata in the nitrogen-deficient medium were 0.39 g/L and 22.62%, respectively at low light intensity (1 940-2 060 lx). An increase in the mass concentration of potassium nitrate resulted in an increase in the biomass and a decrease in the oil content of Nannochloris oculata. Two-step cultivation method promoted the oil synthesis of Nannochloris oculata, and the oil content and oil yield were 30.50% and 0.15 g/L, respectively. |
