Stalk charcoal-based solid acid was synthesized through carbonization followed by sulfonation, and it was characterized by FTIR, XRD, SEM, EDS, TGA and DSC. Moreover, stalk charcoal-based solid acid was used in transesterification of methanol and waste oil with high acid value to produce biodiesel, and the process conditions were optimized. The results showed that the sulfonic group was successfully grafted onto the surface of stalk charcoal. The yield of fatty acid methyl esters reached 97.2% under the conditions of molar ratio of methanol to waste oil 18∶1, catalyst dosage 5% (based on the mass of waste oil), reaction temperature 85?℃, reaction time 8 h. The yield of fatty acid methyl esters remained above 82% after catalyst being used for six times. |
