Abstract:
Using municipal wastewater to cultivate microalgae can achieve not only harmless treatment of wastewater but also recovery algal biofuel as energy source. The outdoor culture conditions of Scenedesmus obliquus were optimized from three aspects including width of the reactor, mixing method and magnetic field. The results showed that when the width of the reactor was 25 cm, the dry weight and the lipid yield of Scenedesmus obliquus was higher, when the width of the reactor was 35 cm, lipid yield per unit area of Scenedesmus obliquus was higher, indicating that the weather in Shenzhen was conducive to large-scale outdoor culture of Scenedesmus obliquus. When using circulating pump to mix, the lipid yield of Scenedesmus obliquus was 78.1% higher than the control group without mixing. When magnetic area was 2S and magnetic field intensity was 40 mT, the lipid yield of Scenedesmus obliquus increased by 36.7% compared with the control group without magnetic treatment.
