Abstract: |
A method for rapid determination of oil iodine value with nickel acetate as catalyst was established, and it was compared with Wijs method. The results showed that at 20?℃, the iodine value of soybean oil was 125.8 gI/100 g after reaction for 30 min and the conversion rate was 99.2% with Wijs method, while the iodine value was 125.9 gI/100 g after reaction for 10 min and the conversion rate was 99.8% with nickel acetate as catalyst. In the eight parallel experiments, the standard deviations of the two methods were 0.299 and 0.456, respectively, and the relative error of the two methods was only 0.81%. So the nickel acetate catalytic method was a good method for rapid determination of oil iodine value with advantages of accuracy, simpleness and mild toxicity. |
