Medium- and long-chain triacylglycerol (MLCT) is a kind of modified product of natural oil. Because MLCT not only provides energy quickly and efficiently for the body without causing fat accumulation, but also provides essential fatty acid (EFA), it has become the research focus in the oil field. Physicochemical properties, metabolism characteristics, preparation methods and the application in food and pharmaceutical industries of MLCT were described, in order to provide useful reference for further research of MLCT. |
