Abstract:
The effects of coix oil on immunologic function in mice were studied. At the doses of coix oil 0.17,0.33,1.00 g/kg (oral gavage) and edible vegetable oil (oral gavage) for 30 d and then the following experiments were conducted: spleen/body weight and thymus/body weight ratio, lymphocyte transformation capacity induced by concanavalin (ConA), delayed type hypersensitivity (DTH), antibody forming spleen cells (AFPC), activities of antibodies (hemolysin) against sheep red blood cells, carbon clearance ability, mononuclear phagocyte functionality and NK cell activity. The results showed that compared with control group, coix oil at the dose of 1.00 g/kg could enhance the capacity of lymphocyte transformation induced by ConA, DTH(induction with DNFB), NK cell activity, AFPC and the serum hemolysin level. It proved that coix oil could enhance the immunologic function in mice.
