With cottonseed oil as raw material, epoxy cottonseed oil was synthesized, then cottonseed oil polyol was prepared by reacting epoxy cottonseed oil with phosphoric acid. The effects of dosage of phosphoric acid, dosage of tert-butyl alcohol, reaction temperature and reaction time on the properties of cottonseed oil polyol were investigated by single factor experiment, and the optimal conditions of preparing cottonseed oil polyol from epoxy cottonseed oil were determined by orthogonal experiment. The epoxy cottonseed oil and cottonseed oil polyol were characterized by infrared spectrum. The results showed that the optimal reaction conditions were obtained as follows: dosage of phosphoric acid 8%(based on the mass of epoxy cottonseed oil), dosage of tert-butyl alcohol 40% (based on the mass of epoxy cottonseed oil), reaction temperature 55?℃, and reaction time 1 h. Under these conditions, the hydroxyl value and viscosity of the cottonseed oil polyol were 212.96 mgKOH/g and 8 700 mPa·s, respectively. The infrared spectrum analysis indicated that as a ring-opening agent, phosphoric acid could be used to modify epoxy cottonseed oil into cottonseed oil polyol. |
