Abstract: |
The highly active and stable carbon-based solid acid catalyst was prepared using potato powder as carbonization material and sulfonating with sulfuric acid. SEM, BET, FT-IR and XRD were used to characterize the structure of the catalyst. Then the catalyst was used in the esterification of oleic acid and methanol. The results showed that the catalyst was an amorphous carbon structure composed of randomly arranged aromatic carbon sheets. It was blocky, loose, rough and amorphous on the surface. The sulfonic acid group was successfully loaded on the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon. The pore structure inside the catalyst was mainly mesoporous, which could provide access for reactants and active sites. Under the conditions of reaction temperature 65?℃, reaction time 2.5 h, molar ratio of methanol to oleic acid 10∶?1, and dosage of catalyst 5%(based on the mass of oleic acid), the oleic acid conversion was as high as 95.68%. After reusing for five times, the conversion of oleic acid could still reach 89.56%. |
