Abstract:
To develop functional lipid 1,3-diacylglycerols based nanostructured lipid carriers (NLCs), the encapsulation and slow release characteristics of thymol loaded NLCs with 1-laurin-3-palmitin as solid matrix and sunflower seed oil as liquid matrix were studied. The results showed that Tween-80 and soybean lecithin in a mass ratio of 1∶ 1 could be used to stabilize the NLCs, and the NLCs could high efficiently encapsulate thymol with the encapsulation efficiency of above 95% at three different mass ratios of 1-laurin-3-palmitin to sunflower seed oil (4∶ 1, 1∶ 1 and 1∶ 4), but the loading capacity of thymol could reach 20% of mass lipids in a mass ratio of 4∶ 1. FTIR, fluorescence spectroscopy and TEM results showed that the thymol loaded nanostructured lipid carriers had good dispersion and homogeneity. Slow release experiment of thymol showed that higher content of 1-laurin-3-palmitin could slow the release rate of thymol, which indicated that the controlled release could be achieved by adjusting the mass ratio of 1-laurin-3-palmitin to sunflower seed oil.
