Abstract:
      :Fruits and vegetables are susceptible to microbial infestation and spoilage during post-harvest storage and preservation, which seriously affects their shelf life and quality safety, thus the development of safe, efficient and low side-effect natural plant-derived preservatives has become a research trend. As the main by-product of oil -tea camellia seed processing, oil-tea camellia seed cake and meal contains a variety of active ingredients such as saponins, flavonoids, peptides(produced with protein), polysaccharides and polyphenols, which have strong antibacterial and antiseptic effects. The antibacterial active ingredients of oil-tea camellia seed cake and meal, and their applications in storage and preservation of fruits and vegetables were introduced, and the related research work was prospected, so as to provide reference for the application development of active ingredients of oil-tea camellia seed cake and meal in storage and preservation of fruits and vegetables.
