Plasticizer content in high-frequency imported vegetable oil in Xinjiang and its intake risk assessment

Abstract:
      To grasp the content of phthalate plasticizers(PAEs) in high-frequency imported vegetable oil and its intake risk, the contents of 18 PAEs in 108 vegetable oil samples of 6 varieties imported in Xinjiang were determined, and the risks of both the acute and chronic dietary intake of PEAs was assessed. The results showed that two PAEs were detected in 108 vegetable oils, which were dibutyl phthalate (DBP) and bis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) respectively. The detection rate of PAEs in 108 vegetable oils was 81.5% and the proportion exceeding the maximum residue was 20.4%. Among them, DBP was detected in 88 samples, and the content range and median value were 0.15-2.09 mg/kg and 0.24 mg/kg respectively. DEHP was detected in 26 samples, and the content range and median value were 0.25-1.95 mg/kg and 0.84 mg/kg respectively. Safflower seed oil and sunflower seed oil were easily polluted by DBP and DEHP. The risk quotients of acute dietary exposure of DBP and DEHP were 33.40% and 15.55% respectively, while the risk quotients of chronic dietary intake of DBP was 210%, below 100%, indicating that the risk of PAEs intake of imported vegetable oil was acceptable. This research helps to effectively prevent and control the quality and safety risks of imported vegetable oil at source, and provides technical data for the precise deployment and control of the supervisory authorities.
