| Abstract: |
| The Oils and Fats Museum of China (OFMC) is a museum that comprehensively, systematically and truly records the civilization history of Chinese oil crops, oils and fats and history of oil production. It can promote the oils and fats culture of China, and introduce the brilliant achievements of oil technology. A brief overview of the museum was given and its different stages were introduced in detail. The preparatory work for building the OFMC started in 2016. With the joint endeavours of national oils and fats circles, the Oil Branch of China Grain and Oil Society, and Wuhan Polytechnic University, the OFMC was opened on October 1st, 2021. In addition to a temporary exhibition, the OFMC has 8 exhibition areas: the Oils and Fats in Chinese Ancient Times, the Industrial Development of Oils and Fats in Modern Times, the Celebrities in Oils and Fats Circles, the Changes and Developement of Oils and Fats Branch, the Elite Oils and Fats Schools and Companies, the Standard of Oils and Fats, the Popular Science of Oils and Fats, National Oils and Fats Security. Every area has its rich collection and related exhibits. |
