| Abstract: |
| To fill the gap in certified reference materials for β-amyrin in China and to support the authentication of camellia seed oil and related pharmacological research, a β-amyrin reference material was developed using oleanolic acid as the starting material. The structure was identified using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) hydrogen spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry. The purity was determined using the mass balance method and quantitative NMR. Its homogeneity, long-term stability, and short-term stability were evaluated, and the uncertainties introduced during the development process, including those related to value assignment, homogeneity, and stability, were analyzed and assessed. The results showed that the developed β-amyrin reference material had a purity of 98.99% and a relative expanded uncertainty of 0.308 2% (k=2), with good homogeneity of the characteristic value and good long-term and short-term stabilities. In summary, the developed β-amyrin certified reference material has accurate and reliable assigned values, as well as good homogeneity and stability, and can be used for the authentication of camellia seed oil and for traceability of measurements related to β-amyrin. |
