For a long time, the mainstream international journal database has mainly included English and Western journals, and has not paid enough attention to the scientific and technological journals of China and many non-English speaking countries and developing countries, and the number of selected journals is limited. In today's rapidly changing science and technology, it is difficult to objectively present the scientific and technological innovation of these countries.At the same time, the existing databases in western countries are mainly index services, which only provide a single index ranking method such as citation times and impact factors, and do not comprehensively evaluate the academic influence of journals. Because of the great limitations of single index evaluation, the scientific and technological circles and the publishing circles have many doubts about it, and many professional institutions have been trying to introduce new evaluation indicators. In order to explore a more scientific and comprehensive evaluation method for the academic influence of journals, and to show the current situation of global scientific and technological innovation in a more comprehensive way, the China Association for Science and Technology commissioned CNKI Science and Technology Literature Evaluation Center and a number of domestic journal evaluation research institutions to jointly carry out the establishment of Research on Comprehensive Evaluation Method for the Influence of International Scientific and Technological Journals. In order to find a more objective and reasonable method in the field of periodical evaluation, and contribute Chinese wisdom and Chinese plan to the evaluation of world scientific and technological periodicals.
