Process of peer review (review) of manuscripts from China Oils and Fats

The journal implements a three-review system based on peer review (chief editor's first review, industry experts' external review, President's final review). By allowing experts in the same field to review the manuscript, the editorial department can judge whether to accept the author's manuscript to ensure the academic quality of the journal. Before submitting manuscripts for review, the author's name, organization and other relevant information are deleted, that is, the review process is double-blind review. The specific process of manuscript processing is as follows:

Review process

1. Receiving manuscripts: After receiving manuscripts, the editorial department will register the manuscripts, and send a receipt to all authors, telling them the manuscript number and the account number of the authors when they log on the website for manuscript inquiry.

2. Preliminary review: If you have the following questions, reject the manuscript or propose to change to other magazines. (1) does not conform to the purpose of the journal and the scope of topics; (2) no new ideas, repeat the work of predecessors; (3) There are too many similar manuscripts and the content is repeated; (4) Vague views, confused logic, lack of readability; (5) Academic misconduct detection results: the total repetition rate exceeds 20%; (6) There are obvious defects in the test or theoretical research, the data is not detailed, and the chart has obvious errors.

3. External review: The editor will submit the paper to 2-3 external review experts for peer review. The article is reviewed for innovation, academic level, rigor and other specific content. For the statistical problems in the article, the editorial department has a special statistical editor to review. In principle, the review time is required to be 20 days. If the peer review opinions are inconsistent, a third expert will be selected to review the draft. If more than 2 experts suggest "rejection", the editorial department for rejection processing.

Note: The peer reviewers selected by the editorial department are experts in the relevant field, but are not among the authors of the paper or members of the research group, and have no interest relationship.

4. Final review by the President: The president of the magazine periodically (every month) reviews the manuscripts in the current month, and the opinions of external review experts and the modification of the authors make the final decision on whether to hire the articles. If it is necessary to ask an expert to review, it will be sent to external review again; If it needs to be modified, it will be submitted again for repair.

Outcome of the trial

1. Retreat: The two reviewers agreed and both suggested that the article should be revised and published.

2. Re-examination: the editor combines the reviewer's opinion and the journal's specification to execute the decision of retraction, and the relatively large modification needs to be re-examined; if the modified paper does not meet the requirements, the paper may also be retracted.

3. Rejection: The editor shall make the decision to reject the manuscript according to the reviewer's opinion and the standards of the Journal. If the authors have different views on the review of the manuscript, they can appeal.
