On April 29, 2019, the Documentation and Intelligence Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) released a news release stating that the selection of source journals for the 2019-2020 edition of the Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD) has been completed, and nine food journals including China Oils and Fats have been selected to be part of the database.
After quantitative selection by Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD) and qualitative assessment by experts, 1231 source journals are included in CSCD for the year of 2019-2020, including 229 English journals and 1001 Chinese journals published in China. The source journals of China Science Citation Database are divided into two parts: the core library and the extended library, of which 908 are in the core library (marked by C in the Remarks column); and 322 are in the extended library (marked by E in the Remarks column).
Source journals of China Science Citation Database are selected every two years. Each selection adopts a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods, with quantitative data coming from the China Science Citation Database and qualitative evaluation by hiring domestic experts to assess the journals qualitatively. The results of the combined quantitative and qualitative evaluation constitute the source journals of China Science Citation Database.
