Statement on the Use of AI Tools

——Regulations for Authors, Reviewers and Editors on the Use of AI Tools

1. Core Principles

AI tools (e.g., generative AI, intelligent writing assistants) are only research aids and shall not replace human academic judgment or original contributions. Authors bear ultimate responsibility for the authenticity, accuracy and originality of the entire paper, including AI-assisted parts.

2. Usage Specifications

（1） AI tools shall not be listed as authors (lacking legal personality and academic accountability).

（2） If AI is used (e.g., generating text, figures, code or polishing language), a separate statement at the end of the paper is required, specifying the tool name, purpose, extent of author intervention and risk mitigation measures (e.g., verifying citations, validating data).

（3） Prohibited conduct:①Using AI to generate/modify core research content (figures, experimental data, conclusions, etc.); ②Uploading unpublished data, sensitive information or copyrighted materials to AI tools; ③ Concealing AI use or falsifying statements.

3. Responsibilities

（1） Authors: Ensure content originality, verify AI outputs and disclose AI use truthfully.

（2） Reviewers: Report AI-related risks to authors or the editorial office; do not use AI to review unpublished manuscripts.

（3） Editors: Require authors to submit AI use statements, evaluate paper authenticity via AI and human judgment, and strictly handle academic misconduct. Authors not using AI need no additional statement.

This statement shall take effect on the date of issuance, and China Oils and Fats reserves the right of final interpretation.
